7th Grade Band Will Perform at Valleyfair!
This is an ANNUAL event!

Greetings from the RMS 7th Grade Band Directors!

Registration for next year’s Bands is now open. We want to start by saying how awesome our 6th Grade Band is sounding this year!  We have really been taking off learning our new music for our Spring concert!  It is so much fun to hear how our sound is getting more and more developed (especially with the addition of several new instruments).  We look forward to being able to perform at the Rogers High School Performing Arts Center in May!  This is a truly exciting venue to perform at (kids LOVE it)!

Another exciting new addition to our program is our Jazz Band!

We are VERY excited for our opportunity to play at Valley Fair next Spring (2027)!  This is the highlight of the year for 7th Graders.  Great memories of performing in a public amusement park are made every Spring!

We wanted to take a moment to go over how important continuing to make music truly is! John Rosner, and I are looking forward to continuing working with our current instrumentalists again in the Fall!  As Dr. Rittenour mentioned at our last concert that "being a member of our musical performing groups is key to a very well rounded education."  Playing instruments provides students with skills that lead into other classes across the board.  It helps teach:

  • Cognitive Enhancement
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Discipline and Perseverance
  • Communication and Emotional Expression
  • Active Listening
  • Time Management and Responsibility
  • Refined Motor Skills and Coordination

Another important "life lesson" that students may need moving into their careers is creativity and self expression.

We hope to see EVERYONE sign up, as we truly love teaching students the joy of playing music on our instruments!

Sincerely
Craig Rauen
